Hondata KPro K-Swap ECU Setup Guide
This guide covers the additional setup required when using one of our Hondata KPro K-Swap ECUs, including vehicle speed sensor (VSS) configuration and 6-speed reverse lockout.
Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) Setup
Automatic ECUs normally process the vehicle speed signal through the automatic transmission circuitry. When using one of these ECUs for a manual K-Swap, KPro needs to receive the VSS signal directly.
Recently purchased KPro K-Swap ECUs from OxyTuned already have the VSS connection handled internally at A18. This will be visible on the top side of the board.
You do not need to depin or relocate the A18 VSS wire in your engine harness. Leave A18 in its factory location.
You will still need to configure the speed sensor within KManager:
- Open your calibration in KManager.
- Navigate to the Misc section of the KPro parameters.
- Set the vehicle speed sensor calibration to approximately 2485 pulses/km as a starting point.
- Adjust this value as necessary until the displayed vehicle speed is accurate.

The correct pulses/km value may vary depending on your transmission gearing, final drive, and tire size.
Note: Older or non-OxyTuned KPro conversions may require the A18 VSS wire to be depinned from the ECU connector and connected directly to the KPro board's VSS input.
6-Speed Reverse Lockout Setup
When using an automatic/manual compatible ECU with a 6-speed transmission, a couple of additional changes are required for KPro to control the reverse lockout solenoid.
Wiring
Move the ECU connector pin:
B7 → B22
Depin the wire currently located at B7 and reinstall it into the B22 position.
Calibration
You must also upload and use a PRB-based KPro calibration.
A PRB calibration is required for reverse lockout functionality.
Once the wiring change has been completed and a PRB calibration has been uploaded, KPro will be able to control the 6-speed transmission's reverse lockout normally.
